The following is an example of a project involving students that shows how an idea becomes a product. The project, making plastic bowling pins by blow molding, exemplifies one way our state-of-the-art facilities are used to teach students career-related tasks.
Step 1: An AutoCAD drawing was developed.

Step 2: The data was transferred to Unigraphics via IGES.
Step 3: The mold cavities were milled with a Cincinnati Milacron Sabre 500 CNC milling machine.
Step 5: Finishing details were done on a Bridgeport milling machine.
Step 6: The mold was mounted on an extrusion blow molder for producing plastic bowling pins.
