G

raphic Communications is a curriculum related to digital media development, traditional and digital printing, publishing, packaging, and Web site preparation and management.

Students apply creative problem solving while learning about technology and management practices related to the production and distribution of graphic media in its many forms. The graphic communications industry is one of the 10 largest industries in the United States. It includes more than 50,000 individual graphic arts facilities distributed throughout all 50 states. Close to one million people are employed in this industry and the Chicago area is one of the most dynamic graphics centers in the country, employing thousands of graphic communications workers. Graduates from this program are in high demand.

Students engage in hands-on activities with high-tech equipment related to digital imaging, document layout, multimedia, Web site development, and print technologies.

In order to meet the dynamic needs of the graphic communications industry, the curriculum is continually assessed and modified based on input from industry leaders and graphic communications professionals.
