We are making an effort to have undergraduates post resumes on the Web site early during their sophomore or junior years.
You can get started directly on-line at eRecruiting by calling the Illinois State University Career Center 309-438-2200 or check www.careercenter.ilstu.edu for details. The Career Center also holds campus wide career events (Employment Fairs) each semester.
If you'd like to post a job position or internship with the Department of Technology please contact Cathy McKay by email at camckay@ilstu.edu, telephone at (309) 438-2665, fax at (309) 438-8626 or mail at 310 Williams Hall, Campus Box 5100, Illinois State University, Normal, IL 61790-5100. You are more than welcome to email a copy of your job announcement to us for posting.
If you'd like an even more involved role in the development of Illinois State technology students, you can be a part of our internship program. The value of on-the-job experience will be multiplied for students as they learn from an alumnus of Illinois State. You and your company will also gain by working with high quality technology students.
Iinformation for each employment fair/event is available on the Career Center web pages.
An event for all students (freshmen thru seniors + graduate students) and alumni who:
Most employers are larger corporations , but also may be from local or state government agencies or other organizations that typically have participated in this very large fair early each fall.
Please check the list of registered employers for each event to find the majors preferred or the particular openings that are posted on that link!! Even if your major is not noted, feel free to discuss professional possibilities with the recruiters if you are curious/interested in finding out more about the organization and the variety of individuals they typically employ.
Especially for teachers and those seeking related administrative or school specialist positions -
For May grads seeking openings for long-term (and regular) substitute positions, leave-type openings, even full-time, mid-year openings that do occur in larger districts.
May graduates should gear up to attend this Fair as well if there are districts of interest participating.
Seniors should prepare for preliminary interviews right at the district tables. As usual, underclassmen interested in making contact with recruiters from districts in which they know they will be interested, should go to this fair to have some informal conversations about job opportunities and the application/teacher selection process!!
For specific dates on Spring events please visit the Career Center website.
