The department serves approximately 400 undergraduate majors in Construction Management, Graphic Communications, Computer Networking, and Manufacturing Systems.
The Technology Career Day students sign up in advance for 30-minute interviews with attending recruiters on Friday, February 15. We will be using Illinois State's e-Recruiting system to post company information and maintain interview schedules.
This year's event will also include an optional Thursday, February 14 evening open-air career fair. Firms are invited to participate by setting up displays and making initial contacts with students.
We are requesting that each participating firm make a donation of $100 to the Department of Technology Foundation to defray Career Day costs and to support departmental scholarships. If a firm is successful at recruiting a graduate, we further request that a $500 gift to the Department of Technology Foundation be considered. This will further support our scholarships and student recruiting efforts to continue to attract and prepare the best and brightest for future employment opportunities.
If your firm would like to participate, please click on the link below to fill out the registration form.and return it by Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Upon receipt of your registration and $100 tax deductible donation, we will assign you (a) an e-Recruiting system logon ID and details about using the e-Recruiting system and (b) information regarding set up for the open air evening event and the interview room locations. Thank you for considering this opportunity. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Elizabeth Gerrard at (309) 438-2103..
List of employers who are attending
An event for all students (freshmen thru seniors + graduate students) and alumni who:
Most employers are larger corporations , but also may be from local or state government agencies or other organizations that typically have participated in this very large fair early each fall.
Please check the list of registered employers for this fair to find the majors preferred or the particular openings that are posted on that link!! Even if your major is not noted, feel free to discuss professional possibilities with the recruiters if you are curious/interested in finding out more about the organization and the variety of individuals they typically employ.
Especially for teachers and those seeking related administrative or school specialist positions -
For May grads seeking openings for long-term (and regular) substitute positions, leave-type openings, even full-time, mid-year openings that do occur in larger districts.
May 08 grads should gear up to attend this Fair as well if there are districts of interest participating.
Seniors should prepare for preliminary interviews right at the district tables. As usual, underclassmen interested in making contact with recruiters from districts in which they know they will be interested, should go to this fair to have some informal conversations about job opportunities and the application/teacher selection process!!
