The Illinois State student chapter of IEEE provides ICS students the opportunity to collaborate with others in their major, attend field trips and conferences, and participate in competitions. Meetings are held regularly throughout the semester.
The IEEE is a non-profit, technical-professional association of more than 350,000 individual members in 150 countries. Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications to electric power, aerospace, and consumer electronics. Through its technical publishing, conferences, and consensus-based standards activities, the IEEE produces 30 percent of the world's published literature in electrical engineering, computers, and control technology. IEEE holds more than 300 major conferences annually and has more than 800 active standards with 700 under development.

ICS students receive certifications. In addition to being a member of IEEE many of our students receive certifications throughout the year. This year 48 ICS students received certification. Nineteen students received A + Hardware Certifications, 12 students received A + Operating Systems Certifications, 15 students received Network + Certifications and 24 students received Cisco Certifications.
