he Industrial Computer Systems sequence focuses on developing individuals with the knowledge, communication skills and management ability to interface with computer industry professionals in a variety of industrial and business settings.

Positions are available in LAN management, technical support/sales, software support/training, applications design, Web development, systems design, computer interfacing, and applications programming.

The Industrial Computer Systems graduates understand the following:  

• electronics to the level of interacting with electronic engineers or technical support
• programming structures and syntax to the level of correcting and modifying source code
• network systems to the level of LAN/WAN migration and expansion

All of the following courses are required of students graduating from the Industrial Computer Systems sequence. We enable our graduates with the ability to integrate the knowledge of these four defined areas of instruction.

 

In addition to these core courses 12 hours of elective study is included in the sequence to further pursue areas of technical aptitude and professional development.

ICS/CSEMS Scholarships

The Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology (CeMaST) at Illinois State University is offering the CSEMS scholarships for talented students who need financial assistance to complete the ICS sequence. Twenty scholarships for students planning to pursue degrees in applied computer science, mathematics, or industrial computer systems programs are available for up to $3,125 per year renewable for 4 years for a total of $12,500.This scholarship, coupled with PELL and MAP grants, can cover a significant amount of your tuition, fees, and room and board expenses.
